Back-To-School Promotions: Good Deals, Good Food, Good Business

    By Taren Martin | Blog | Comments are Closed | 25 July, 2023 | 0

Everywhere you look, you see signs that school is almost back in session.  The stores are lined with backpacks and school supplies while clothing stores are marketing new back to school outfits.  Restaurants also have an opportunity to capitalize on this yearly back to school fair with promos of their own.  Families are gearing up for another busy season of juggling work, school, and extracurricular activities.  They are looking for ways to make their day just the slightest bit easier, and that is where restaurants can step up to the plate. Here are a few examples to show your customers how you can simplify their days and ways you can market it!

    Discounts

You can offer a variety of discounts to get customers flowing in as school starts up.

    • Giving teachers a percentage off their meal is a great way to support teachers and thank them for all they do. – The first week of school, teachers can get a percentage off their meal or maybe every Monday for the month of August.
    • Offer student discounts for college students with their college ID.
    • Offer a family night discount where children eat free with an adult entrée purchase.

Think of who your customers are and tailor your discounts to them.

    Giveaways

Utilize your social media pages to do a giveaway.  People can nominate their favorite teacher and explain why they deserve the gift card.  You can do multiple giveaways and even get together with a few other restaurants to make the prize even bigger.  Ask your followers to share the post, tag friends and select a winner. This allows more people to learn about your restaurant and give back to your community.

Marketing your Back To School Promos

Getting directly involved with local schools is a great way to give back to your community while getting the word out about your business.  Collect school supplies or backpacks for a school near you and leave a coupon or flyer letting them know what your weekly promotions are and how they can connect with you online to learn more.  You should also begin sharing your upcoming back to school promotions through social media.  Build excitement and remind your customers how this will make their evenings less stressful allowing them some stress free, quality time with their family. Don’t forget to market your to-go services for the families that want to enjoy their meal at home.

This new season is filled with so much hustle and bustle for many people.  Think of ways that you can help ease some of the stress and use that to bring in customers.  Be sure your restaurant is running smoothly and efficiently so you will be ready to show customers how they can rely on you for a quick and easy meal on those busy nights.
