    4 Strategies for a Successful Summer

    With inflation on the rise and no end in sight, it is important to rethink strategies to keep customers coming in.  Summer is generally a time when families are trying to get out of the house, go on vacation and in many cases, eat out a little more while on the go! Give your customers what they want this summer and incorporate options that will make them feel like they are on a tropical getaway.  

     

    • Summer Drink Specials

    Seasonal drink specials are a great way to increase your profits.  From fruity cocktails to delicious frozen drinks, people are drawn to summer drink specials.  The hot temperatures make these fresh, cold drinks even more enticing, so make sure you include them on your summer menu. Mocktails are also a great way to drive sales.  They are generally more expensive than soda or tea and give customers who do not want an alcoholic beverage a chance to enjoy the refreshing sips of summer! 

     

    • Seafood

    Seafood is enjoyed throughout the year, but summer is a great time to  get creative with some special menu items. Helping your customers cool off with some cold ceviche or adding some mango salsa to your grilled shrimp can add that refreshing summer flavor.  Spotlighting these dishes can help you drive sales and is a fun way to incorporate some dishes you may not always offer. 

     

    • Farmers Market Produce

    Fresh and local produce is trending amongst consumers, but it is also a great way to meet vendors and ensure that you have fresh, in season produce.  Building relationships with your local vendors is advantageous for many reasons and summer is the perfect time to make that happen.  

     

    • Summer Salads

    There is nothing quite like a fresh salad on a hot summer day and after meeting your local farmers market vendors, you will be ready to create some salad magic.  Salads make great promotional lunch items that can help increase afternoon sales.  Leafy greens, red tomatoes, and crispy bell peppers are beautiful visuals that remind customers they might want to eat something fresh and light for lunch. You can add strawberries  to give it that summer feel and even create a special dressing to pair with it. 

     

                            Evaluate what will work best for your restaurant and start incorporating those strategies today.  Sprinkle in some fruit, make some frozen drinks and mingle with the local vendors.  Not only will your customers thank you for the summertime experience, your bottom line will too!
