These days, it seems there is so much more to attend to when it comes to running your business, and part of that is keeping a presence on social media. It might seem unnecessary, but having a platform to share your restaurant, who you are and what you bring to the table actually has a plethora of benefits. If you often feel stuck and are not sure what to post next, it can be stressful and is probably one of the first things you let take a back seat, so we wanted to offer a few helpful tips that will hopefully alleviate that stress!
Cooking Tips and Recipes
Anytime you can help someone with a pain point, take advantage of the opportunity. People are at a loss for what to make for dinner, busy moms want new ideas or maybe hosts are looking for a good drink to make at their Fourth of July party. Put together any tips or recipes you can think of and share them occasionally. You can even have your employees get involved and share their favorite recipe! People love to share great recipes or save the post so they can look at it later. If the recipe is available at your restaurant, remind them they can always order to go and skip the hassle of cooking themselves!
Behind the Scenes
People are craving connection, and social media allows businesses to give their customers an inside look at how they operate and who they are on a more personal level. There are many ways you can add this to your social media in a way that relates to your restaurant. Pick different employees who can share their favorite dish, or share what they enjoy about working at your restaurant. You can also have a contest where employees get together and create a reel for your restaurant. Once they are approved, publish a different one daily and see which one gets the most interaction. The winner gets a gift card or is allowed to pick their shift for the next week! This takes the pressure of creating new content off of you, is fun for employees and will probably get you a lot of new traction since employees will likely be telling their friends and family to go comment and like their post!
Showcase Your Restaurant
Don’t overthink this one. Keep it simple. Take a picture of your restaurant with the morning light shining in or grab a picture of your kitchen before it gets busy. You can snap a picture from so many different angles and give customers a peek inside through your lens. You can take a picture of a popular dish or if you have any specials going on, take a picture of the food or drink and share it with your customers! This is a great way to promote your specials and also an easy way to add content to your social media pages. Create a short reel showing the process of making food or a drink and ask customers what they are excited to try on their next visit.
People love to check out social media sites before dining in and can be swayed by what you are posting, so you do want to make sure there is some strategy and thought behind your posts. However, there is no need to stress over what you share. There is plenty of content right at your fingertips! All you have to do is think ahead and remember to capture a few moments along the way. Utilize the talent that your employees bring to the table, because most Millennials and Gen Z will have endless ideas on what you can post.
